Overview

The 2018 Barolo Cicala is a very good wine for the year. It offers good depth and intensity, in a slightly dialed back style that is typical of the vintage. More than anything else, the Cicala is impeccable in its balance. All the Cicala signatures are present, they are just quieter than usual. Black cherry, scorched earth, graphite, spice and oak all meld together. Best of all, the 2018 can be enjoyed with only minimal cellaring.

The 2018 Barolo Cicala is a very good wine for the year. It offers good depth and intensity, in a slightly dialed back style that is typical of the vintage. More than anything else, the Cicala is impeccable in its balance. All the Cicala signatures are present, they are just quieter than usual.
