Overview

"The red 2021 Manyetes has less alcohol than any other vintage, 13.5% on the label. This is a wine from an extremely warm vineyard, where they harvested earlier (they picked over two passes) and managed to avoid the notes of over-ripeness by using crunchy grapes with lots of energy. This year, they did a big change to preserve the freshness while keeping the black slate character from Cariñena in Priorat, doing a softer vinification, with some 30% full clusters, which is increased in the following years. It has notes of blood, iron and soil and is balanced while keeping the personality. There is a note of freshness, reminiscent of tomato vine, that emerges with time in the glass. One-third of the wine matured in amphorae and the rest in an old foudre, so there's hardly any impact of the oak in the wine. In 2018, it was in barrique, then they moved to foudre, and in 2021, part was unoaked. A new Manyetes. "
