Beaucastel CNDP 2020 (75 CL)
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Medium-bodied, fresh, meaty and spicy with a strong sense of pepper and garrigue, fresh, soft and vibrant, the wine will drink well fairly early for Beaucastel due to its freshness, balance and ripe, soft tannins. The wine blends 30% Mourvedre, 20% Grenache with the remainder blend coming from all the other assorted red and white grape varieties. Drink from 2024-2040." - 97/100, Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Wine Advocate - Robert Parker
Beaucastel's 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape is shaping up as a blend of 30% each Grenache and Mourvèdre, with 10% each Counoise and Syrah, plus 20% other permitted varieties, including a healthy proportion of white grapes. Complex and red-fruited, with hints of flowers and garrigue, it's expansive and richly textured on the palate, finishing long and silky. (JC, 05/2022)
