Juicy red and black berries, pepper, leather, and savory garrigue aromatics define the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 5% Cinsault that was partially destemmed and aged 12 months in 80% foudre and 20% used barrels. It's medium-bodied, has a focused, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and outstanding length. Beautifully balanced with remarkable purity and elegance, it will evolve for 15-20 years in cold cellars. There are roughly 2,083 cases produced. Drink 2025-2045.

Sensual and perfumed, the 2023 Chateauneuf du Pape from Domaine de la Janasse is a striking success, especially when compared to the more muscular, introverted 2022. Bursting with aromas of violets, spring flowers, dark cherries and garrigue, it’s medium- to full-bodied and dense yet vibrant, with a fleshy core of fruit framed by velvety tannins and a satiny, seamless texture. The finish is long, harmonious and gently spiced. A blend of 65% Grenache Noir, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault, it was matured for 12 months in a combination of foudres and used barrels (20%), offering a beautifully integrated and balanced expression of the vintage.
