Overview

Stepping up in price, the 2024 La Clape La Falaise is based on 45% Syrah, 45% Grenache Noir, and 10% Mourvèdre. Its deep purple hue is followed by a great nose of pure blackberries, darker raspberries, peppery garrigue, violets, and spring flowers, all of which give it a slightly Côte Rôtie-like vibe. It's beautiful on the palate as well, with medium-bodied richness, a pure, layered mouthfeel, nicely integrated tannins, and good acidity. This focused, clean, impeccably made La Clape will benefit from just a year of bottle age and keep nicely through 2038. It's a beautiful, elegant wine. Drink 2026-2038.

The 2024 La Clape La Falaise displays ripe black plum, licorice, wild herbs and peppery accents. Full-bodied, concentrated and wrapped around polished tannins, the 2024 shows well at this early stage, with notable freshness on the savoury close. By Nicolas Greinacher may 2026
