Overview

The 2023 Trotanoy is one of the most elegant Trotanoys in recent memory. I especially admire its svelte, vertical personality. There's plenty of Trotanoy energy, but the 2023 is not as imposing as most recent vintages have been. Dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, lavender, mocha and pomegranate all build beautifully with a bit of time in the glass.

Entirely crafted from Merlot and matured in 50% new oak, the 2023 Trotanoy has turned out superbly, revealing a perfumed, complex bouquet of dark berries, rose petals, incense and pencil shavings. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and deep, it is built around a multidimensional core of fruit framed by structured tannins, yet it remains remarkably sensual and velvety in texture.
