"The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is more closed on the nose than Roumier’s Les Amoureuses, darker fruit, perhaps undergoing more extraction in the winery. Veins of blue fruit emerge with time in the glass. The palate is chewy with saturated tannins, quite dense and muscular, powerful and forthright. Feel very de Vogüé in style with an almost uncontained finish that cannot disguise the warmth of that summer. It will need considerable time in bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting."
