Incorporating young vines in the higher appellations along with the domaine's communal-level holdings, the 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village exhibits aromas of sweet spices, berries, orange zest, smoke and peonies. Medium-bodied, supple and fleshy, with a layered core of fruit framed by melting tannins, it's a success.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Le Clos d'Eugénie offers darker fruit on the nose, cranberry and blackberry, light sea cave scents and later, iris flower. I appreciate the reserve, the "coolness" of the aromas. The palate is well balanced and framed by pliant, filigree tannins, the acidity counterbalancing the bright red fruit with aplomb. Very harmonious and poised towards the black pepper tinged finish, this is a delicious and quite irresistible Vosne-Romanée for the vintage. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Clos d'Eugénie opens in the glass with aromas of sweet red berries and plums mingled with smoke and peonies.
