Overview

Good full red. Mellow perfume of red fruits and spices. Round, ripe and seamless, showing lovely early sweetness and a sensual texture leavened by sappy energy. Raspberry and ripe cherry flavors are a bit youthfully reticent but carry well on the juicy, sedate finish. This is more graceful in bottle than it was from barrel in the fall of 2013.

The 2012 Chambolle Musigny Village has a pretty raspberry and wild strawberry-scented bouquet with plenty of sous-bois character mixed with bergamot. The palate is surprisingly structured with very good density and salinity. Backward and broody, this deserves five or six years in bottle. This is at the top of my expectations divined in barrel. By June 2015
