Beautiful red and blue fruits, violets, leather, peppery herbs, and bouquet garni notes all emerge from the 2023 Saint Joseph, a medium to full-bodied effort that has a round, supple, pure style. It has ripe, polished tannins and a seamless, layered profile that's going to shine for two decades, if not more. Although I love it today, it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age. Drink 2028-2046.

Perfumed and approachable, the 2023 Saint-Joseph from Jean-Louis Chave is superb, revealing aromas of iris, violet, dark berries and fresh fruit mingled with a subtle menthol nuance. Medium- to full-bodied, layered and supple, it’s textured and precise, built around a core of fruit with good depth, framed by velvety tannins and concluding with a long, perfumed finish.
