The 2022 Volnay 1er Cru retains the purity on the nose that I observed from barrel, and indeed, there remains a tangible upgrade in complexity over the Village Cru. The palate is medium-bodied and is still quite Pommard-like in quality with that Earl Grey element. It's a bit short on the finish, hence my prudent score.
