The 2022 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a little more amplitude compared to the Fremiet. It has a note more mineralité with traces of pencil shavings behind the carapace of red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine grip on the entry, slightly edgy tannins and hints of Japanese nori infusing the dark berry fruit with a saline finish that urges you back for the next sip.
