More elegant and vibrant than Savart's 2018 Expression Blanc, the 2019 Brut Nature Expression Rosé has turned out well. Disgorged in November 2024 without dosage and vinified in 350-liter barrels, half new and half used for two prior wines, it comes from the same lieux-dits in Écueil as Expression Blanc but includes 5% red wine from Les Noues. Unfurling from the glass with scents of orange zest, candied pear, dried white flowers and pastry, it is medium- to full-bodied and concentrated, with a voluminous core of ripe but lively fruit, balanced by racy acidity, with Pinot Noir phenolics that further amplify the chalky signature of this wine. To preserve its bright fruit profile, it is better drunk within eight years of the vintage.
