The 2019 Écueil Le Mont des Chrétiens (Wineglobe), tasted from magnum, was vinified entirely in glass globe and disgorged in January 2025 with a dosage of two grams per liter. Opening with exotic floral aromas, orange zest and crisp green apple, complemented by notes of freshly baked bread, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, ample and concentrated. It offers a rich core of fruit, supported by a vibrant spine of acidity, culminating in a long, chalky finish. It’s unsurprising that this normally reliable cuvée will return to oak vinification in its next release, as this rendition, while focused and precise, lacks the depth and structure of its 2020 counterpart.
