Savart's 2019 Écueil Les Noues falls slightly short of its anticipated caliber, presenting a broader, more precocious profile. Disgorged in January 2024 with a dosage of two grams per liter, it reveals a bouquet of red apple, orange zest and beeswax, with subtle hints of honey. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated and dense, but based on the sample tasted, it also feels precociously plush and appears to be evolving more swiftly than expected. The brightness of fruit seen in the 2020 vintage is absent here, suggesting that this may be best enjoyed sooner rather than later. It was vinified in 500-liter barrels, with 50% being new oak.
