Hosanna 2009 (75 CL)

97/100 Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider. Tasted: Sep 2019. Deep in color, concentration and flavor, the wine is rich, concentrated, complex and plummy. Still young for its age, you find a combination of smoke, truffle, espresso bean, black cherry and dark chocolate on the nose and mouth. Lush, opulent and deep on the palate, a few more years will a lot more complexity and refinement to the wine.

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2009 Hosanna has a dark-fruited, broody nose of stewed black plums, blackberry preserves and blackcurrant cordial with touches of pencil lead, bay leaves, beef drippings and fungi. Full-bodied with a firm, chewy frame, the palate gives loads of savory/earthy layers and a ferrous finish. (LP, 3/2019)
