Kirwan 1985 (75 CL)

The 1985 was made during a period where Kirwan was sending out mixed messages concerning its qualitative intentions. It has turned out to be a correct, competent wine. The color is medium ruby with some lightening at the edge. The wine exhibits a mature earth, spice, and red currant/cherry-scented nose. Some new oak is noticeable on the attack of this medium-bodied, soft, straightforward yet pleasant claret. Anticipated maturity: Now-2000. Last tasted 3/97 (RP, 1/1998)
