Closed in a screw cap bottle, the Massolino 2018 Langhe Riesling is a lot of fun. The wine so carefully and accurately reflects the basic identifying traits of this distinctive variety in its primary stage. This Italian Riesling is beautifully redolent of honeycomb, pear, pineapple, flint and petroleum. It's a textbook example with a streamlined mouthfeel and sharp point of freshness. The wine is aged briefly in various vessels, including acacia wood, stainless steel, amphorae and cement. I'd recommend drinking it relatively young. (ML 7/2020)
