At age nine, the 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie is beginning to drink very well, wafting from the glass with aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, fresh hazelnut, white flowers and orange oil that exhibit none of the exoticism that can mark out this vintage. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant, it's layered and seamless, with bright acids and fine length on the precise finish.
