Schäfer-Fröhlich Kupfergrube GG 2022 MG

The 2022 Riesling Schlossböckelheimer Kupfergrube Grosses Gewächs is from a parcel of the rockiest part of the Kupfergrube from over 50-year-old vines. It smells of yeasty funk and wet stone with a smoky, savory, herbal touch. Later on, something almost creamy rises from the glass. The palate has immediate power: something stony, dark, brooding and defined despite the wine's crystalline transparency and light tread. A lovely, ever so slight phenolic edge adds an even darker allure. (Bone-dry)
