Schäfer-Fröhlich Stromberg GG 2022 DBMG

The 2022 Riesling Bockenauer Stromberg Grosses Gewächs is from the estate's steepest, rockiest, most extreme site. In this volcanic site the vines are up to 100 years old, with many 80-90-year-old and some 45 years old. Subtle reduction clouds an initial note of green apple. Underneath, something floral flickers, like tender apple blossom, something breezy and airy. This is a sleekness-made liquid. Stone and acid are traveling forward with immense dynamics, channeling brightness. The 2022 is smooth, driven, vivid, urgent and taut, with a trail of mouthwatering salt and absolute zestiness. This is like an arrow in flight against a green backdrop. (Bone-dry)
