A cuvée produced since 1970, the 2019 Mas La Plana is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Penedès. Aged 18 months in oak barrels and foudres (61% new) with only 4% remaining in steel tanks, this wine presents a garnet hue with a purple sheen. The aromas feature cassis, tobacco and licorice, along with ripe cherry and orange petit four. Dry, rich and indulgent, it flows with intensity, eventually becoming compact due to its chalky mouthfeel. This full-flavored Cabernet boasts an international flair.

The herbal and peppery 2019 Mas La Plana is a textbook Mediterranean Cabernet Sauvignon with notes of Italian green peppers and blackberries. Despite the 14.5% alcohol, it feels medium-bodied and with a certain lightness. 70,944 bottles and some larger formats were produced. It was bottled in August 2021. By Luis Gutiérrez May 2024
