Overview

The 2017 Saint Joseph Les Cotes comes from a parcel in Mauves owned by former general manager Albéric Mazoyer. All destemmed, it spent 16 months in only older oak. Violets and pepper mark the blueberry-scented nose, followed by a palate that's medium to full-bodied, creamy and supple without any heaviness. It's fresh and tremendously drinkable, with a fresh, silky finish. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.

Inky ruby. Potent, mineral-accented dark berries, cherry pit and a suave floral quality on the highly perfumed nose. Concentrated yet energetic in style, showing very good depth and clarity to the sappy cherry, blackberry and floral pastille flavors.
