"The 2020 Charlemagne Grand Cru does not quite possess the same level of ripeness as its peers, but I like how this evolves in the glass, with crushed stone, dried honey and a touch of spice. It seems to gain detail in the glass. The palate is balanced with a taut line of acidity that imparts energy into this Corton-Charlemagne, effortlessly offsetting its inherent richness. Poised and mineral-driven, this dances on the tongue on the finish. Superb. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting."
