Weisser Burgunder 'R' trocken 2021 (75 CL)
Weisser Burgunder 'R' trocken 2021
Wine Advocate
From the oldest vines in the steepest and rockiest part of the Stromberg, so grown on red slate, the 2021 Weisser Burgunder 'R' trocken offers a clear, deep and intense, flinty and somewhat untamed bouquet of crushed slate and bright but discreet and elegant fruit. Fermented longer than the other Pinots due to natural yeasts and racked two times before the unfiltered bottling, this is a very fine and elegant, even juicy, lush and delicate but substantial Pinot Blanc with fine tannins intermingled with salty minerals and ripe, refined and elegant acidity. It has a very good, intense, aromatic and mouth-filling finish. When I tasted this in late July, it was scheduled to be bottled in the next few weeks, just after the Riesling GGs. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022. To be released in September this year. (SR 8/2022)
